To Every Tribe and Tongue

“After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages …” (Revelation 7:9)

This page exists for one thing — to show God’s work of carrying the gospel into every tongue. Every number below is not “what we did,” but a prayer offered alongside the task that remains, and thanks for the church that has preserved the Word.

First, some rare facts

What we met while carrying one story into many tongues

Quoting Scripture across languages reveals the astonishing diversity God planted in human speech — and the one Christ who runs through all of it.

① The reach so far

About 80% — and the remaining 20%

By Joshua Project data, the languages carried so far reach about 80% of the world’s people (by mother tongue). The dots not yet filled are the reason for this work.

② The unfinished task

The reality of Bible translation

There are about 7,400 living languages. Only a fraction have the whole Bible — translation is nearer than ever, yet not finished.

There are languages we began and then paused. Rather than publish AI prose without a trustworthy native rendering, we chose a faithful “not yet.” Please pray for these — they need human translators.

③ The Word holds across tongues

One verse, many scripts — not a single word invented

Every verse is quoted verbatim from each language’s official Bible translation. The storyline is retold, but the biblical text is never paraphrased. Below is John 3:16.

④ To the ends of the earth

One point, one language — on the earth

Each carried language is a point where most of its speakers live. Size is mother-tongue speakers; color is how it was carried. Drag to spin.

By continent — where the gospel has reached

⑤ A map of tongues

From every nation, tribe, people and language

Each rectangle is one language. Size is mother-tongue speakers; color is how it was carried — full quotation · New-Testament-centered (partial) · bridged from a neighbor’s Bible · or, where no Bible exists, drawn from an illustrated story-Bible (OBS).

Data becomes prayer and mission

This is the Great Commission, carried together by the body of Christ. Join in four ways.

Pray

For languages still without Scripture, and those on the list above — that the Lord would send workers into His harvest.

Share

Send someone the page in their own tongue. One link can reach one soul in the language of the heart.

Give

Through Bible-translation organizations (Wycliffe and others), so translation can begin for peoples still without the Word.

Translate

If you are a native speaker of a language, review its prose and help turn a “not yet” into a “now.” No coding needed — just the text.

The purpose of all this is the proclamation of the gospel — God’s great command. Glory to God alone.
